Night-sky stacking for Mac · Zero AI

Stack the night sky. Honestly.

Drop in a folder of frames. Satrelle locks onto the stars and builds your shot two ways: flowing star trails or a tack-sharp Milky Way. Every pixel is light you actually captured. No AI fill. No fake skies. No cloud.

Two ways to stack

One app for the whole night sky.

Most stackers pick a lane. Satrelle gives you both signature looks from one folder. Flip between them in a click, same honest engine underneath.

Continuous star trails arcing over a mountain valley and river Star Trails

Seamless star trails

Classic arcs and comet-tail fades, continuous edge to edge. Where other tools leave dashed, broken lines, Satrelle keeps every trail smooth and unbroken.

  • Comet-style fading & trail thickness
  • Trail smoothing & polish
  • Optional build-up timelapse video

Pin-sharp Milky Way

Satrelle lines up the sky so the stars stay sharp points, for clean, low-noise Milky Way and starry nightscapes. Satellites, planes and hot pixels are cleared automatically.

  • Clean, low-noise results
  • Removes satellites & planes
  • Keeps your foreground tack-sharp

Star Trails. Point Stack.

Reads your camera's RAW, straight from the card

The proof point

Seamless trails, down to the pixel.

Stack a night of frames in most tools and the tiny gaps between exposures show up as dashed, broken trails. Satrelle delivers clean, continuous starlight edge to edge, and clears satellite and airplane streaks at the same time. All from the light you actually shot.

Features

The hard parts, handled.

No manual star-picking. No alignment spreadsheets. Satrelle lines up your whole sequence, hands you a clean master, and now takes it further: tune the look live, edit the foreground on its own, mirror the sky in water, and grade the result, all before it ever leaves the app.

Automatic

Automatic sky alignment

Satrelle locks every frame to the night sky on its own, even wide 14 mm nightscapes. No reference stars to click, no drift to chase, nothing to set up.

Compositing

Foreground masking

Keep your landscape tack-sharp while only the sky builds up. Clean, natural edges every time.

Pro

Water reflections

Mirror your finished trails into a lake or still water. Physically, not faked. Satrelle reflects the sky to match your shot, so the reflection lines up the way real ones do. An interactive editor lets you set the waterline, paint the water, and dial in depth fade, ripple blur and blend mode. It reflects the sky only, so trees and ridges never double up.

Pro

Clean foreground

A multi-frame blend of your foreground removes noise, satellites, and even the real smeared star reflections off water, giving a pristine base before you add your own.

Pro

Foreground editor

A Lightroom-style panel for the land alone: exposure, contrast, highlights and shadows, color and clarity, applied only under your mask with a live preview. The skyline stays a clean, seamless blend, and Satrelle warns you if the land ends up brighter than the night sky, the tell-tale sign of a fake-looking composite.

Instant

Live adjustments

Keep shaping the image after the run: grade, smoothing, polish, thickness and comet fade update the on-screen result in about a second, so you find your look without waiting on full re-runs.

Field

Landscape nightscape mode

Thin-sky shot giving you trouble? Set your location and the direction you faced on a built-in offline map, and Satrelle handles the rest.

Pro

Finishing & grade

Reveal fainter trails, recover star color, warm or cool the sky, add contrast, and darken the zenith with a natural sky gradient, all sky-only, so your foreground stays put. Blend in a separate lit foreground exposure too.

Speed

Quick Preview

A half-resolution draft of the whole result in seconds, so you dial in your look before committing to a full run.

Cull

Frame Review

See your sequence as a grid. Satrelle auto-flags headlights, planes, clouds and stray darks so you exclude them in one click.

Performance

Run it your way

Full speed for the fastest run, or pick Balanced or Quiet to cap the CPU cores and keep your Mac cool, quiet and responsive while it works.

Clean

Hot-pixel & dark-frame cleanup

Sensor hot pixels are cleaned up automatically; add optional dark frames for an even cleaner sky.

Output

True color into Lightroom & Photoshop

Export a 16-bit TIFF with an embedded Adobe RGB (1998) profile, so your master opens with correct, vivid color instead of a washed-out import. Optionally, save a timelapse of the trails building across the sky.

Pro

Presets & batch queue

Save your favorite looks as presets, then queue multiple folders to run back-to-back, or schedule the queue overnight while your Mac stays awake.

Honest by design

No AI.
No fake skies.
No exceptions.

Satrelle never guesses. Nothing is upscaled, invented, or pulled from a stock library. It builds your image only from the light you actually recorded, then leaves the vision entirely to you.

AI-free No sky replacement No cloud upload Your grade, your call
Workflow

Five steps from folder to finished sky.

Intentionally simple. Point it at the sequence, pick the look, and export a file built for serious finishing.

Ethos

Protecting the night sky starts with how we capture and share it. Satrelle supports truthful presentation. No generated additions, no synthetic sky replacement.

FAQ

Straight answers before you buy.

Two stacking modes in, a photographer-controlled master out. Here's what that means.

No. Satrelle uses no generative AI, no sky replacement and no cloud AI processing. Every result is built only from the image sequence you captured.
Star Trails combines your frames into continuous arcs (the classic comet/trail look). Point Stack lines up the sky so the stars stay sharp points, for clean, low-noise Milky Way and nightscape images. Both run from the same folder; switch with one click.
Real, not generative. The reflection is built from your own finished sky and matched to your scene, so the trails mirror the way real light does. Then you fine-tune the waterline, masking, depth fade and blend in an interactive editor. Nothing is invented; it's your sky, reflected.
Yes. With a foreground mask in place, the Pro Foreground Editor opens after a run with Lightroom-style controls (exposure, contrast, highlights and shadows, temperature and tint, vibrance, saturation, clarity) that apply only to the land. The sky is never touched, the skyline stays a seamless blend, and like everything in Satrelle it is classical image processing, not AI.
Satrelle is a macOS app for Apple Silicon (M1 or newer), running macOS 11 Big Sur or later. Because it processes high-resolution 16-bit RAW sequences, 16 GB of RAM or more is recommended for the fastest results. The app is fully self-contained, so there's nothing else to install.
RAW from most major cameras (CR3, CR2, NEF, ARW, DNG, RAF, RW2, ORF, PEF), plus TIFF and JPEG. Output is a 16-bit TIFF tagged with Adobe RGB (1998), with an optional H.264 timelapse video.
Yes. Activate once before you head out, then process entirely offline. Licenses re-validate every 30 days with a 30-day grace period, so a weekend in the backcountry is never a problem.
Download Satrelle and every feature is unlocked free for 7 days, no credit card required. When the trial ends you can buy Pro ($59, one-time) to keep everything, or carry on in a free mode that processes up to 200 frames per sequence. Your work is never locked away.
No. Satrelle prepares the cleanest possible night-sky master. You still finish color, contrast and creative decisions in the editor you already trust. Satrelle just hands you a far better starting point.
Yes. Satrelle is code-signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it passes Gatekeeper cleanly. Your images never leave your Mac.
